Bilateral relations

Co-operation in the fields of culture, science and education between Romania and Russian Federation

  • Bilateral cultural relations are developing on the basis of Intergovernmental Agreement of cooperation in the fields of culture, education and science (Moscow, May 24, 1993). 
 
  • An Agreement concerning cooperation in the field of Science Academies was also signed in Moscow, May 24, 1993.
 
  • Sessions of Romanian – Russian Joint History Committee (Iaşi, November 1993, Moscow, November 1994, Constanţa, November 1995, Moscow, October 1999, Constanţa, October 2004, Craiova, September 2008).
 
  • In 2007 was signed the Memorandum of Understanding on scientific cooperation between Romanian Academy and Russian Foundation for Basic Research in the fields of mathematics, physics, chemistry.
 
  • October 2008, the Head of the Institute of National Economy of Romanian Academy paid a visit at the invitation of Institutes of Economy of Russian Academy of Science, from Petersburg and Moscow. With this occasion was signed the Cooperation Convention between the Institute of National Economy of Romanian Academy and the Institute of Economy of Russian Academy of Science from Moscow.
  
  • On 9 October 2008, the Documentary Exhibition "Romanian-Russian military relations in the documents and photos from archives of the National Military Museum of Romania” was launched at the Embassy of Romania
 
  • On November 12, 2008, in Moscow took place an Extraordinary Concert performed by maestro Gheorghe Zamfir with the Artistic Ensemble of the Russian Army „A.V. Aleksandrov”
 
  • On November 28, 2008 the Russian translation of Romanian philologist Albert Kovacs’s book „Dostoievsky’s poetic” was launched at the „Lomonosov” University.
 
  • On December 8, 2008, Romanian Ambassador to Moscow, Constantin Grigorie, handed to Alexander Soljenitin’s family the National Order „The Star of Romania” with the rank of Grand Cross, given post-mortem to the great Russian writer by the president of Romania Traian Basescu
  
  • On December 9, 2008 in the presence of the author was launched at the Embassy of Romania the Russian translation of poetry and prose “The Morning after death” by Ana Blandiana 
 
  • April 26 – 30, 2009, a delegation of Russian Science Academy led by Mr. Aleksandr Andreyev, vice-president of the Academy, made a visit to Romania. On the occasion was signed the Collaboration Agreement between Romanian Academy and Russian Science Academy.
 
  • May 24-25, 2010 the general director of the Romanian Diplomatic Institute, professor (Ph.D) Radu Carp paid a visit to Moscow. On this occasion was signed the Cooperation Agreement concerning the elaboration and publishing the volume << Alexandr ambassador Federation, Russian of Affairs Foreign Ministry the Academy Diplomatic rector with met Carp Radu USSR. in prisoners war>>.
 
  • October 2010, a Romanian delegation of scientists and professors from the Romanian Academy led by Gheorghe Zaman, the director of the Institute of National Economy of the Romanian Academy, attended the conference “Russia in a multi-polar configuration”.
 
  • On December 8, 2010, Anton Niculescu, state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania, made a speech at the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation; on this occasion the Romanian state secretary had a meeting with Vladimir Titov, deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Russian Federation.
 
  • June, 2011 in Russia Federation took place the tour of the The Bucharest Philharmonic Orchestra.
  • Between September 10 – November 30, 2011 were organized the Days of Russian Culture in Romania.

  • On September 24, 2012 in Sankt Petersburg in the presence of the Romanian minister of Culture and National Heritage, Puiu Hasotti and the Russian deputy minister of culture, Alla Manilova, were launched the Romanian Cultural Days in the Russian Federation. The project includes a serie of cultural events: concerts, photography expositions, Romanian traditional suits, folkloric dance and National movies. The cultural events will take place in Sankt Petersburg, Moscow, Ekaterinburg and Veliki Novgorod.

  • During his visit to Bucharest on October 8-9, 2012, Konstantin Kosacev, the chief of „Rossotrudnicestvo” met with Andrei Marga, the president of the Romanian Cultural Institute. The officials agreed to complete by the end of the year the signing of the Intergovernmental Agreement for establishment and functioning of the Romanian Cultural Institute in Moscow and the Russian Scientific Centre in Bucharest.

  • November 28-30, 2012, visit to Moscow of the president of the Romanian Academy of Science, Mr. Ionel Haiduc.
