PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION 

  As per the provisions of Law no.677/2001 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, with its later amendments and modifications, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania – registered as data controller in the Personal Data Processing Registry of the Romanian National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Protection (ANSPDCP), under controller no.5285, has the obligation to safely manage the personal data you provide with regard to your person, members of your family or any other persons, solely for the specified and well-established purposes, as regulated through the legal framework in force.

  The purpose for the collection of data is: the processing and examination of Romanian visa applications, as well as the issuing of visas applied for.

  The persons subject to the processing of their personal data for the aforementioned purpose have the obligation to provide the requested data via the visa application form*. The refusal to provide the requested data triggers the inadmissibility of the visa application which will, therefore, not be received.

  The information collected thereby is meant for the use by the data controller and is communicated to the following Romanian authorities competent in the field: the diplomatic missions and consular posts of Romania, the National Visa Center of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the General Inspectorate for Immigration and the Romanian Border Police of the Romanian Ministry of Internal Affairs.

  As per the provisions of Law no.677/2001 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data, with its later amendments and modifications, you benefit from the right to be informed, the rights of access and intervention to/on your data, the right of intervention upon your data, as well as from the right to not be subject to an individual decision. You also have the right to oppose the use of personal data that regards yourself, as well as to request its deletion**. In order to exercise these rights, you may submit a written, dated and signed request, to the National Visa Center of the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs***. You also benefit from the right to submit a complaint addressed to the ANSPDCP (http://www.dataprotection.ro/), as well as to refer to a court of law. 

  As per the provisions of art.41 paragraph (1) of Law no.271/2010 regarding the setup, organization and operation of the National Visa Information System and the participation of Romania in the Visa Information System, your data is neither transferred nor made available to any third party or international organization, save for the situations specified under art.41 paragraph(2) of the same legal instrument.

  Should any of the data regarding your person be incorrect, please inform us as soon as possible.

* The fields from the visa application form that are marked with a star (*) need not be filled-in by third-state nationals who are family members of European Union or European Economic Area citizens (spouse, child or dependent ascendant).
** Should you disagree with the processing of personal data regarding your person, your visa application shall become inadmissible. Also, should you desire the deletion of personal data regarding your person and should you hold a valid visa obtained as per this data, during the time period when you submit the deletion request, your valid visa shall be revoked. Should no decision have yet been taken on your visa, it shall no longer be processed and, also, please note that the visa application fee cannot be returned. 
***The requests for exercising said rights of data subjects (dedicated forms) shall be lodged for the National Visa Center of Romania and submitted at the following address: Departamentul Consular – Aleea Alexandru, nr.24, Sector 2, Bucharest, Romania.
